1. Definitions
Welcome to the browser extension "Chat2File" (the "Extension", "we", "us"). Please read these Terms of Use carefully before installing, enabling, or using the Extension.
By installing, enabling, or using the Extension, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Extension and uninstall it.
- Extension: Chat2File, including its code, interface, features, and updates.
- Supported websites: Sites where the current version of the Extension runs the relevant functionality as declared in
manifest.json. - Exported content: The conversation content you select and export through the Extension on supported websites.
2. Service Description
The Extension is a utility tool designed to:
- Organize selected conversation content on supported websites.
- Convert exported content into downloadable files, including Markdown, PDF, DOCX, images, EPUB, JSON, and Jupyter Notebook formats.
3. License Grant
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to install and use the Extension on devices you own or control for personal or internal business purposes.
All rights not expressly granted are reserved by us and/or the applicable rights holders.
4. Acceptable Use and Prohibited Conduct
You agree to comply with applicable laws and must not:
- Use the Extension unlawfully or infringe rights: Export, distribute, store, or process content that violates law or infringes another party’s rights.
- Bypass or undermine security: Interfere with or evade security mechanisms of the browser, supported websites, or the Extension.
- Reverse engineer or tamper: Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, tamper with, or create derivative works of the Extension except where allowed by law.
- Abuse permissions: Use requested permissions for purposes unrelated to export functionality.
- Abuse automation: Use the export capability in an abnormal or large-scale automated way that causes abnormal resource usage, disrupts others, or creates security risk.
5. Third-Party Websites and Services
The Extension runs within certain third-party websites. Your access to and use of those websites is governed by their own terms and policies.
We do not guarantee the availability, legality, accuracy, or continued compatibility of those websites, and we are not responsible for issues caused by changes to their structure, permissions, policies, or product rules.
6. Privacy
Our handling of information is described in the separate Privacy Policy. These Terms and the Privacy Policy together form the complete agreement regarding your use of the Extension.
7. Intellectual Property
The Extension itself, including its source code, icons, UI design, copy, trademarks, and branding, is owned by us and/or the applicable rights holders.
Rights in exported content depend on the original source and applicable terms. You are responsible for ensuring that your export, storage, and use of such content are lawful and compliant.
8. Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Extension is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind.
Export results may vary because of browser conditions, third-party website changes, network conditions, or system restrictions. You are responsible for reviewing exported files and for the consequences of using them.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Extension.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Extension. If the Extension is provided free of charge, the limit is 0.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your license to use the Extension if you breach these Terms, if required by law or regulators, or for security, maintenance, or technical reasons.
You may also terminate your use at any time by uninstalling the Extension.
11. Changes
We may update the Extension or these Terms from time to time to reflect feature changes, compliance requirements, or legal developments. Updated Terms will be shown on this page, and the revised date will control.
If you continue using the Extension after an update, you accept the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of your jurisdiction or our jurisdiction, depending on the published release and business entity information.
The parties should first attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith negotiation. If that fails, disputes will be submitted to a court of competent jurisdiction.
